Monsters, Inc. (2001) Laugh Floor diorama, 2023

This was a school final project for Core Studio: Wood - Design: Drafting & Model-Making for 3D Art Objects and the instructions for this final project were to create a scale wooden stool and create a narrative, i.e. put it into a scene. I decided to add my wooden stool to a stand-up comedy scene, but I was stumped on what character I should use. I decided that Mike Wazowski, from Disney/Pixar's Monsters Inc. (2001), would be the perfect fit as Mike's passion is stand-up comedy. This diorama was very simple, all I did was craft a stage and backdrop out of foam core, glue on red wooden dominoes as bricks, add Mike and the stool, and give Mike a microphone, which I hand-made. Now Mike is set to tell some jokes both old and rare!
